FIELD: mining. SUBSTANCE: construction of deep open-cast mine in rocky area begins from terraces of minimum height for location of main drilling and loading equipment of first stage of operation. By the end of construction of open-cast mine height of part of rock opened terraces from side of deposit hanging side is increased, for example, doubled. During first stage of operation till period of upper edge of working side coming to final contour of open-cast mine on surface height of working stripping terraces on rocky stripping is increased to maximum, that by 2 4 times exceeds initial height. On final stage of deep open-cast mine operation and finishing height of working stripping terraces is gradually decreased to initial one. Height of upper stripping terraces on loose and eroded rocks during construction and operation is left untouched according to conditions of stability, and average height of stripping terrace from side of deposit hanging side during construction and first stage of operation is increased up to maximum. On second stage of operation and during finishing it is decreased to minimum in accordance with conditions of averaging of running factor of stripping. EFFECT: increased productivity. 1 dwg
