FIELD: exhaust gas separation; preparing catalysts. SUBSTANCE: method involves binding metal powder layer of 0.1-0.5 mm thickness with particle sizes being 10-200 mcm large to a carrier of given configuration by means of sintering in vacuum or protection medium at 0.7-0.85 times the melting point during 1-5 h, applying layer-by-layer aluminium oxide at 723-923 K in 2-5 layers from aqueous solutions of aluminium salts (5-10% by mass) containing polymers by means of spray-pyrolysis method with layers intermediately dried during 1-5 min at 373-393 K and further burned at 873-1073 K during 0.5-5 h, spraying catalyst layers from aqueous salt solutions (0.1-10% by mass) also containing water-soluble polymer (0.1-1% by mass) followed by final burning in the air at 873-1173 K during 0.5-5 h.
