FIELD: complex utilization of technogenic materials, particularly, EXHAUSTED chemical sources of electric energy of manganese-zinc system by hydrometallurgical methods. SUBSTANCE: method includes grinding of initial materials, firing of finely divided materials, magnetic separation, acid leaching and electrolysis. Novelty consists in that magnetic separation of finely divided chemical sources of electric energy is carried out before firing with withdrawal of iron scrap; fired material is classified with separation of metallic zinc; washed cinder is leached with circulating electrolyte with pH no more 3, temperature of 30-60 C with separation of solid precipitate of manganese oxides; and remaining solution containing manganese and zinc sulfides is subjected to electrolysis. Solid residue of leaching contains 54% of manganese and up to 10% of graphite and presents finished product - high-quality chemical manganese concentrate. If required, graphite is removed by flotation, and content of manganese in manganese concentrate rises up to 60%. EFFECT: provided complex processing of exhaust chemical sources of electric energy with higher recovery of manganese and zinc, and low cost of utilization process as a whole. 2 cl, 4 tbl, 2 ex
