METHOD FOR MANUFACTURE OF ENCLOSURES FROM SHEET BILLETS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: production of hollow parts from sheet billets in superplasticity mode. SUBSTANCE: method involves usage of flat strikers for forming in two stages: at the first stage supplying excessive pressure gas into cavity of billets preliminarily welded along their contour, with billets tightly adhering to striker surface and temperature and pressure regulated to optimum values; at the second stage forcing strikers apart and simultaneously varying pressure. Gap and pressure are regulated in accordance with dependences described in formula recited in Specifications. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of enclosures. 6 dwg
