FIELD: laser welding. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing sites on welded articles to be joined to high power radiation, for example, laser or heat radiation and supplying noble gas into the zone of welding. The sites of welding are cooled with cooled noble gas delivered. Cooling temperature is selected in the range from (-200 C) to 0 C. Cooling is carried out prior to exposure of the sites to be welded to laser beam action and is to be continued until the laser beam is taken off from the zone of welding. EFFECT: enhanced quality of the weld; applicability to welding off articles from extremely thin materials. 2 cl, 1 dwg
