FIELD: microbiology. SUBSTANCE: strain Bacillus thuringiensis var. donegani is isolated from dead larvae of Tenebrio molitor, deposited in National Collection of Industrial and Marine Bacteria, Limited at number NCIMB 40152. At cultivation on the medium containing carbon and nitrogen sources and mineral salts strain produces parasporal protein toxin showing parallelepiped form with square base at upper and lower planes of which two pyramids were constructed with equal bases. Toxin is water-soluble at neutral pH value and has molecular mass 64000-72000 and 34000-36000 Da. At treatment of Leptinotarsa decemlineata larvae at the second instar with proposed toxin the death of larvae at 5-th days is 100% EFFECT: increased effectiveness of toxin. 4 cl, 15 tbl
