FIELD: load-lifting mechanisms. SUBSTANCE: hoist has upper sheave with two different-diameter sprockets rigidly fitted on sheave axle and wrapped around by chain in opposite directions. Hoist has also lower sheave with sprocket and load hook, and chain forming closed circuit with upper and lower sprockets. Fitted on axles with sprockets are casings with coaxial cylindrical spaces forming concentric clearance between tip of sprocket tooth and inner surface of casing, size of clearance not exceeding diameter of chain cheek. Slots made in casings serve to align chain strands on line of sprocket tips. EFFECT: enhanced reliability, convenience and safety. 3 dwg
