FIELD: tamping the ballast of railway tracks. SUBSTANCE: tie-tamper unit of the track maintenance machine comprises vertically-movable frame 3. The latter carries vibratory drive 5, levers 6 and 7 with articulated tie-tampers 18 and 19 which are capable of being tuned by drives 20 and 21 for putting them out of operation. Axles of revolving joints 14 and 15 of tie- tampers 18 and 19 are inclined to the horizontal plane and to the vertical plane passing across the machine. Drives 12 and 13 for turning levers 6 and 7 connect the latter to vibratory drive 5. EFFECT: improved design. 3 dwg
