FIELD: foundry engineering. SUBSTANCE: method of preparation and change of well on conveyer for horizontal continuous casting includes simultaneous preparation of two wells by means of their alternate knock out and lining in special areaways. One of prepared wells is transported and put out along casting axis of conveyer and fixed on a mounting plate. The second well is preliminary set up on a mounting plate along drawing axis symmetrically to working well. The second well has its own crystallizer directed to the opposite side of drawing ingot out of the first well. In case of forced stop of conveyer the plate is turned to 180 deg and the process of continuous casting proceeds. Due to this method conveyer idle time shortens during change of workpieces of one profile for another as well as in case of emergency stop of conveyer when liquid metal bursts out.
