FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: device has brake shoe 1 with two hinge-connected parts. One end of brake shoe is connected through flexible coupling, for instance, steel cable 4, to bracket installed on car body 6. Secured on other end of shoe by hinge joint is guide fork 11 with pin 12 on one of its prongs. Pin 12 engages with drive fork coupled with brake control device. With control lever moved to set braking device in operating position, movement is conveyed through drive fork and pin 12 to guide fork 11. The latter is fitted on tyre of car wheel 7 tightly embracing the side part of tyre and bringing brake shoe 1 under wheel and holding it in position to prevent side slipping of car wheel. Cable 4 holds brake shoe in place of contact of tyre with road. EFFECT: increased safety of vehicle. 2 cl, 2 dwg
