FIELD: mechanical engineering; transport engineering; brakes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains brake mechanism installed of frame and brought in contact with roadbed, and brake mechanism power drive system. Device is furnished with system to absorb kinetic energy of vehicle. Said system is made in form of cross axle with outer tread rigidly secured to frame and two reels turned onto thread with opposite directions of linear displacement along thread and wire ropes wound on reels, also sets of plate disks made of viscoplastic material freely fitted on axle between outer end faces of reels and stops to secured ends of axle to frame and brought in contact with each other by identical end face rough surfaces and tube of elastic plastic material freely fitted on axle and connecting end faces of reels pointed to each other. Tube is provided with alternating slots orientated square to longitudinal axis of tube. System of power drive of brake mechanism is made in form of housing with built-in explosive cartridge furnished with electric igniter installed on vehicle frame with tilting in direction of straight-ahead movement behind axle with reels. Brake mechanism is essentially rod on end of which is driven inside housing of power drive to contact with explosive cartridge, and other end is furnished with wedge to drive rod into roadbed material. Middle part of rod has fork to connect rod with free ends of ropes wound on reels.
EFFECT: improved efficiency of braking, simplified design of device.
