FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: multipole knife switch has fixed contact strips, two per pole, arranged along wiring base on fixed insulators and facing each other in parallel to each other, with movable contact strips placed inbetween on movable insulator, operating mechanism for moving the contacts, and power supply and load leads. Movable insulator is mounted for displacement along wiring base; both movable and fixed contact strips are in parallel to wiring base in closed and open positions. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
