FIELD: plastic working of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating billets in annular furnace, with temperature in furnace zones being sequentially increased from one zone to other; deforming heated billets. Billet temperature in furnace zones is maintained within the range of 1180-1220, 1200-1240 and 1220-1260 C, respectively. Upon deformation wheels are subjected to quenching, with wheel temperature in furnace zones in the process of heating for quenching being maintained within the range of 830-870 C. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of wheels. 4 cl, 4 tbl
