METHOD FOR GRINDING BY TOOL WITH TWO INTERSECTING CHIPPING FACETS Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2050225 C1

FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves cutting in the direction towards worked surface simultaneously by two facets positioned at both sides of plane extending through chip forming facet intersection line towards cutting speed vector. Chip forming facet intersection line is offset relative to end rib by a value depending on optimum value of apex axial shift, with apex of end rib protruding to a greater extent along three-surfaced cutting member. EFFECT: increased efficiency and improved quality of grinding. 2 dwg
