FIELD: high-temperature electrochemical equipment. SUBSTANCE: solid electrolyte includes zirconium dioxide, stabilizing oxide of metal chosen from group of calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, oxides of rare-earth metals or their mixtures and additives of bivalent and/or trivalent cobalt oxide. Specified components are taken in following proportion, per cent by mass: zirconium dioxide from 75.0-up to 97.0; cobalt oxide from 0.01 up to 1.55 (in terms of cobalt); stabilizing oxide of metal being the balance. Process of manufacture of solid electrolyte includes mixing of starting components performed by chemical coprecipitation of hydroxide from aqueous or alcohol solutions of salts, in particular of alcoholates of corresponding metals, their calcination at temperature from 450 up to 900 C followed by grinding of powder. Formed billets of articles are baked at temperature 1200-1400 C. Injection of cobalt additive can be carried out during communication of zirconium dioxide and stabilizing oxide of metal mixed and baked in advance or during their baking.
