FIELD: high-temperature electrochemical equipment. SUBSTANCE: material for high-temperature electrochemical equipment contains oxide of bivalent and/or trivalent cobalt, zirconium dioxide and oxide of metal chosen from group: calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, oxides of rare-earth metals or their mixtures. Specified components are taken in following proportion, per cent by mass: cobalt oxide 39.6-78.2 (in terms of cobalt); zirconium dioxide 0.45-0.50; metal oxide being the balance. Process of production of material involves mixing of starting ingredients carried out by method of chemical coprecipitation of hydroxide from aqueous or alcohol solutions of salts, in particular alcoholates of corresponding metals, their calcination at temperatures from 450 up to 900 C followed by communication of powder. For formation of billets there are used additives decomposing with release of gaseous products at temperatures 10-200 C below temperature of baking of material conducted at 1000-1450 C. While baked in oxidizing atmosphere articles can be additionally thermally treated in reducing atmosphere at temperature 50-300 C higher then their working temperature.
