FIELD: a process for preparing zinc sulfide layers for use in electroluminescent visual indicators and photoelectroluminescent devices. SUBSTANCE: heating and evaporation of a charge composed of volatile compounds such as (o-phenanthroline) bis (diethyldithiocarbamato) zinc and (o-phenanthroline) bis (diethyldithiocarbamato) manganese (II) in a 100:0.1-2 molar ratio. The evaporator temperature varies from 160- 230 C. The thermodecomposition of vapors on a heated substrate in a vacuum is 1·10-5 - 1·10-6 tors. Simplification: no gas carrier is required, layers need not be annealed, and there is one evaporation source. EFFECT: more efficient preparation process. 4 dwg, 2 tbl
