FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing a template into a branch pipe, feeding a refractory matter into a gap between a surface to be repaired and the template through openings; keeping the template in the branch pipe up to setting of the refractory matter, then removing the template. Apparatus for performing the method includes the template with openings in its upper part, a pipeline and a reservoir for the refractory matter. The method is characterized by a step of feeding of the refractory matter into the gap along a generatrix line upon a process of placing the template into the branch pipe at simultaneous compaction of the matter, had been fed, with use of the template. The apparatus is characterized by the template, being built-up one and having two portions, a lower portion being cone one, and an upper portion (a head) is mounted with possibility of rotation around a vertical axis.
