FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves taking blood sample to obtain plasma poor in blood platelets, diluting the plasma with physiologic salt solution in 1:3 proportion, adding 0.1 ml of 1% protamine sulfate solution to the diluted plasma, thermostating the mixture at room temperature for 5-10 min with following photometric examination at 490 nm wavelength. The optical density being higher than 0.47 units and blood sample blood platelets number being in norm, chronic relapsing pancreatitis is diagnosed. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of diagnosis.
