FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a method of diagnosing chronic pancreatitis of alcoholic etiology (CPAE). The method consists in the fact that fasting saliva taken in patient is analyzed, wherein activity of enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GP) and content of reduced glutathione (RG) are determined. If the following conditions are fulfilled simultaneously: the activity of the enzyme GP is greater than 3390 mcmol of oxidized glutathione, and the content of RG is less than 0.13 mcmol/g of protein, CPAE is diagnosed.
EFFECT: method application enables to diagnose chronic pancreatitis of alcoholic etiology with high accuracy.
