TUBE THREADED CONNECTION PRESSURIZING CHAMBER Russian patent published in 1996 - IPC

FIELD: oil-and-gas extracting industry. SUBSTANCE: pressurizing chamber has two metal half-rings, which are connected by threaded tightening device to define casing. Smooth rubber members mounted within casing are composed of two halves, which are connected to form ring. Both halves are provided with tight lock connection positioned at their ends. Inner sides of rubber members are provided with shaped self-sealing hollow chamber for collecting pressurizing agent (liquid, gas). Pressurizing chamber is mounted on column head and casing clutch and pressurizing agent is supplied into self-sealing shaped chamber to create pressure sufficient for pressurization of threaded connection. When clutch connection is tight, pressure created in chamber and controlled by pressure gage, is not reduced to certify tightness of connection. EFFECT: increased efficiency, wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 6 dwg
