FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing refractory material to gas-oxygen flare with temperature at least equal to 2000 C till refractory material surface temperature reaches 600 C; heating afterburner walls to temperature exceeding 1000 C; injecting escaped gases by oxygen stream and burning in oxygen flare with temperature of at least 1300 C. EFFECT: increased efficiency by complete burning of gases escaped from resin-bearing refractory materials in the process of thermal treatment, including benzepyrene, till carbon dioxide and water are obtained.
