FIELD: separation of materials. SUBSTANCE: coefficient of distribution of volatile matter between two like liquid phases is determined by means of placing of liquids in chambers of two-chamber vessel, which has to be air-tight system. Then liquids are brought into contact with intermediate matter, concentration of volatile component is measured in both liquid phases. After that coefficient desired is determined by calculations. Inert gas phase is introduced between two liquid phases as intermediate phase, taking into account that the gas phase is in contact with surfaces of each liquid phase.
