FIELD: molecular physics. SUBSTANCE: drop of liquid is applied onto surface of solid body. Edge angle is measured at boundary of the drop, and coefficient of surface tension of liquid is determined prior and after physical factor influenced. Acoustic waveguide is used as solid body. Influence is carried out by exciting low frequency ultrasonic oscillations in the waveguide at standing wave mode. Changes in coefficient of surface tension are determined from relation, given in the description of the invention, where σ is coefficient of surface tension of liquid prior to exciting ultrasonic oscillations, and q and θ′ is edge angle prior and after excitation of ultrasonic oscillations correspondingly.
