FIELD: filtration techniques. SUBSTANCE: filtering material in a two-section filtration apparatus is a charge of spherical granules consisting of oxide of aluminium, titanium or zirconium or alloys thereof. Upper section contains the charge 80-100 mm high with a fraction of 1.5-2.5 mm while the charge in the lower section is 1.5-2.0 times higher than that of the upper one and its fraction is 0.6-1.0 mm. The height of each section of the filtration apparatus is at least twice larger than that of its charge. The liquid to be filtered is delivered into the upper section and filtrate is discharged from the lower one. The filtering rate is not over 75 l/sq.m.s. Periodically, the filters are reclaimed by pumping a detergent solution therethrough in a counterflow at the rate of not less than 50 l/sq.m.s.
