FIELD: material analysis. SUBSTANCE: method involves exposing specimen having a mixture of fissile heavy nuclei in neutron emission field in reactor. After being exposed, the specimen is heated to 500- 1500 C. The gas products produced as a result of fission are collected in closed vessel and blown through with a gas carrier like helium. The mixture is directed into a chromatographic column where the mixture is separated into components and each separated component activity is measured. The quantity of each kind of fissile heavy nuclei is calculated from the component activity measured. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of analysis. 1 dwg
