FIELD: manufacture of engines. SUBSTANCE: to control operation phases and to stop gas distributing valves in closed position, two cams, two hydraulic pushers and three rocker arms are provided for each valve on engine camshaft. First and second rocker arms are engageable with cams and third rocker arm is engageable with gas distributing valve. Hydraulic pushers are used to connect the first and second rocker arms with third one. Depending on position of control spool valve, one hydraulic pusher is filled with oil, thus placing the gas distributing valve in operation which follows phases corresponding to profile of respective cam. As soon as oil supply is discontinued, gas distributing valves are stopped in closed position. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 7 cl, 4 dwg
