FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves stiffening heavy fragments of goaf which are in unsteady equilibrium prior to working by injecting loose material under them. Structure of elements is strengthened before horizontal drifting of odd- numbered layers by pouring loose material through its natural penetration depth while fixing large fragments to be cut in goaf mass. Drifting is made by repeated cycles including metered vacuum suction of loose goaf components; odd-numbered layers are cut by means of top grips with gripping devices displaced in forward direction this being accompanied by separate placement of protective transport floor made of solid cover. Even-numbered layers are cut by means of bottom grip with gripping devices withdrawn from goaf; in the action, solid cover is separately destructed and all stages are accompanied by dust suppression and saturation of goaf layers with absorber.
