FIELD: packing of solid radioactive waste into containers for further burial. SUBSTANCE: method involves charfing solid radioactive waste into vessel and providing additional safety layer around it. For applying additional safety layer around vessel, mold-shaping framework is built of silicon carbide fibers wetted with polymeric binder, held till polymeric binder curing, and framework spaces are filled with ceramic material. EFFECT: improved reliability of radioactive waste isolation from environment; increased thermal stability and mechanical strength of container produced by this method. 2 dwg
