FIELD: internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: sparking plug of internal combustion engine includes metal body with flanged edge, insulator with collar put on body contacting flanged edge, central electrode placed inside insulator over its length and side electrode connected to metal body and forming spark gap with central electrode. Sparking plug is fitted with ring-shaped element made from dielectric material, is placed on to part of insulator located outside of body and made fast to insulator to limit leakage currents through insulator over section of its joining to body.
