FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cable to be spliced is deformed by compressing it externally on opposite sides relative to cable axis to form region of initial exfoliation of external sheath from bundled conductors on both sides of cable. Fine-pointed plow-shaped wedges with groove are introduced in mentioned regions starting from cable end, cable sheath stretched above groove is cut by means of cutting tool on outside over two opposite longitudinal sides and cut sheath lugs are separated in opposite sides of cable axis. Machine has bed mounting first and second groups of driving feed rolls with annular grooves. Parts of mechanism for cutting cable sheath with disk blades are placed between groups of feed rolls. Blades have fine-pointed plow-shaped wedges provided with base surface, side deflecting surfaces, and concave rib with groove. Stationary iron-shaped separating wedge with fore edge, fluted guide, and guiding-deflecting slots is mounted behind roll group. Guiding-deflecting slots receive at least one pair of additional feed rolls spring-loaded in respect to each other. EFFECT: facilitated cable splicing procedure, improved quality of splicing cables of various forms of design. 10 cl, 10 dwg
