FIELD: process of production of fertilizer. SUBSTANCE: method of production of potassium sulfate includes the process of thermochemical interaction of crystalline components - ammonium sulfate and potassium chloride in a stoichiometric mixture at 300 to 400 C with withdrawal of crystalline target product and ammonium chloride in the form of sublimate with its subsequent crystallization. The process of interaction of components is conducted in the medium of crystalline potassium sulfate, whose amount relative to the total mass of source components is taken to be equal to 50 to 250%. The method prevents caking of reaction mass. EFFECT: enhanced quality of product as far as chemical and granulometric compositions are concerned.
