FIELD: technology of contamination. SUBSTANCE: surface of contaminated metal is covered with halides of metals, resulting in eutectic. Then, method involves heating to temperature that is higher than temperature for generation of eutectic and subsequent cooling. Layer of produced corrosion is removed from surface of metal. Mix of sodium, potassium, lithium or calcium chlorides is used as halides. Metal halides are ground to particles of 0.1 mm before their application to contaminated surface. Surface to be contaminated may be moistened by petroleum product, for example, by oil. EFFECT: decontamination of stainless heat-resistant steel. 7 cl, 1 dwg
