FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves preliminarily selecting storage conditions for biological liquid and color of control liquid; providing thermal or mechanical treatment of hermetically sealed container with control liquid; cooling both liquids to storage temperature; evaluating temperature condition irregularities by variations in the shape of control liquid. Apparatus has device 1 which may be mounted on or within container with biological liquid and cooled to biological liquid storage temperature. When minimum storage temperature is reached, liquid substance 4 (control liquid) in hermetically sealed container 3 transforms into solid state. As a result, container 3 mounted within transparent casing 2 is broken in portions where stress is concentrated. Upon breakage of container 3 substance 4 retains its shape. When temperature rises above permissible value (within minus temperature range), liquid substance thaws out and looses its shape to indicate irregularities in storage temperature.
