FIELD: chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates with methods of production of hydrogen fluoride and metal or silicon oxides from the corresponding fluorides or waste containing thereof. Method involves pyrohydrolysis of metal or silicon fluoride, interaction of prepared dust-vapor-gaseous mixture with hydrocarbon at temperature 400 C (not below) and isolation of the end products - the corresponding oxide and hydrogen fluoride. Natural gas or propane were used as hydrocarbon which is taken at amount 1.2-1.4 gram-atom carbon per 1 mole water to be decomposed. Proposed method provides the producing practically anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and finely dispersed powder of metal or silicon oxides at the high yield (up to 99%).
