FIELD: purification technique. SUBSTANCE: electric coagulator includes a housing, a supporting grate, mounted on angles, flared portions on ends of an electroinsulating tube, forming a secondary winding of a three-phase transformer. A union is provided for removal of purified sewage water. A branch pipe provides discharging of sludge from the electric coagulator. Steel metallic chips, including mainly ferrum, are being spilled from upwards into the housing of the electric coagulator, then sewage water to be purified is being poured, the water penetrates into the tube, fills coils of the secondary winding of the transformer. Upon energization of the coagulator ferrum is being dissolved in such a way, that in sewage water ferrum ions Fe+2 react with chrome ions Cr+6 for reduction of Cr+6 until Cr+3 and for their subsequent sedimentation in the form of hydroxides Cr(OH)3, which by gravity force deposits in the form of suspensions in a lower portion of the coagulator to be discharged through the branch pipe.
