FIELD: power engineering; liquid-to-gas heat transfer. SUBSTANCE: chamber 1 has at least one channel with connections for delivery and discharge of heat-transfer media. Channel is partially filled with liquid and provided with checker in the form of stack of plates mounted on its bottom. Stack is built up of alternating flat and corrugated plates 7 and 8 with longitudinal corrugations in the form of transverse waves in normal section; corrugations are arranged horizontally and their wavelength is equal to or higher than liquid level in channel. Plates 8 are shaped as sawtooth waves in normal section. Height of corrugations in plates 8 is twice as small as rated pitch in making checker only from flat plates.
