FIELD: moist cleaning of carpets and other floor coverings. SUBSTANCE: sucking and cleaning head has suction chamber with inlet and outlet openings and cleaning liquid chamber with inlet and outlet openings. Outlet opening of suction chamber may be communicated with air treatment apparatus. Inlet opening of cleaning liquid chamber may be connected to liquid source. Flow restricting device is positioned in cleaning liquid chamber adjacent to its outlet opening so that plurality of channels are defined to supply liquid to surface to be treated. These channels may be made in flow restricting device as well as in cleaning liquid chamber walls. Flow restricting device may be mounted outside cleaning liquid chamber so that it embraces its walls, as well as within this chamber. Lower surface of flow restricting device coming in contact with surface to be treated may have different configurations.
