FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: vacuum cleaner has basic cleaning tool movable by vacuum cleaner casing together with suction source, casing with slot for detachable joining of collecting container through opening in one of casing wall. Collecting container has suction channel which may be detachably connected to dust sucker positioned in the vicinity of container base and coupled to cleaning tool. Connecting devices are positioned on upper end of collecting container for detachably joining to suction source within casing for providing suction through cleaning tool and directing air flow from cleaning tool through dust sucker and suction channel to suction source. Two interchangeable separating units may be selectively mounted in collecting container. Separating unit for wet cleaning may be connected to suction channel, when vacuum cleaner is used in wet cleaning mode of operation, for separating drawn liquid drops from air flow. Dry cleaning unit may be mounted inside collecting container in spaced relation to suction channel, when vacuum cleaner is used in dry cleaning mode of operation, and is adapted for separating dry material drawn by air flow. Thus, vacuum cleaner may be selectively used for wet or dry cleaning. EFFECT: increased versatility, simplified and compact construction, convenient maintenance and operation. 18 cl, 2 dwg
