FIELD: well drilling. SUBSTANCE: method to control motion of drilling plant in ground or rock includes using of power unit immovably installed at lateral wall of protective pipe. A force is applied to the pipe. Information on pressure is transmitted from actuator driven by medium or from pressure gage. Motion force created by power unit id controlled on the base of data on the pressure received from the actuator or pressure gage placed in drilling head of the drilling plant. Device for controlling the motion of the drilling plant includes power unit for continuous travel of the drilling plant immovably fastened to the lateral wall of the protection pipe for transmitting the force, or pressure gage for transmitting information on pressure, and control unit. The device is provided with pressure transmission lines from actuator or pressure gage to the control unit for controlling the force of the power unit on the base of the pressure measured in the actuator and pressure gage placed in the drilling head.
