FIELD: electrical heaters for heating liquid in heat supply systems. SUBSTANCE: heater has housing 1 with branch pipes 2 and 3 for supply and discharge of heating liquid. Heating chamber 5 is arranged in chamber 4 of housing. Heating chamber 5 is formed by two coaxial hollow cylindrical electrodes 6 and 7 mounted by means of insulator 9 in spaced relation. Outer electrode 6 is made in form of sleeve with tight movable base. Inter-electrode gap 10 is brought in communication with chamber 4 of housing 1 through interior of inner electrode on side of base, gas discharge passage being brought out of electrode gap on opposite side, directly at insulator 9.
