FIELD: seageophysics. SUBSTANCE: method in particular is meant for electromagnetic examination of floor with stud of variation of magnetotelluric field. Measurement of variation of geomagnetic field is conducted in two horizontal planes at one point of examined area. Measurement of variation of electric field is performed in direction of profile of observations with towed measurement line while vessel moves. Second line parallel to first one but displaced to distance ensuring generation of clear signal is used to prevent effect of electric field varying in space and constant in time.
