FIELD: biotechnology. SUBSTANCE: dye is prepared by cultivation of pigment-containing fungus Hypomyces rosellus, strain 94/77, on the nutrient medium consisting of an aqueous composition of the following components, %: hydrocarbon raw-base waste production 0.4-6; ammonium phosphate or sulfate 0.2-4; magnesium sulfate 0.05; iron sulfate 0.001 or manganese sulfate 0.05. In the process of cultivation mycelium is subjected for enzymatic hydrolysis and dye separation is carried out from cultural fluid. Mixture of benzene with ethanol or chloroform with isopropanol or chloroform with methanol at ratio 1:2 is used as an organic solvent. Dye yield is 35-40% of dry mycelium cell mass.
