FIELD: grinding of materials such as sand, etc. SUBSTANCE: method is based on charges in structure of mineral at transfer of its temperature through the point of polymorphous conversion. Material is heated to temperature higher than polymorphous conversion point by passing it through flow furnace and cooled below this point by means of sprayed water. Heat generated in this process is utilized for preliminary heating of mineral powdery material and water prior to spraying. Device has flow furnace and liquid sprayers. Preheating of mineral powder is effected in preheater bin with heat exchanging tubes fed with steam-air mixture. Separator tank is used to preheat water and supply it to sprayers and separate air from steam-air mixture. EFFECT: high efficiency. 5 cl, 1 dwg
