FIELD: equipment used in mining thick inclined and pitching coal seams. SUBSTANCE: supporting is made up of separate interconnected sections, each having shield ceiling, base in the form of skis, hydraulic jacks for movement and props pivotally mounted between shield ceiling and base. Base of each support section in its rear part is provided with wall pivotally connected with base and shield ceiling, and moving hydraulic jack is installed between support base and upper part of rear wall and pivotally connected with them. Rear wall of support section is made of logs, and support base and shield ceiling are provided with pockets where ends of logs are installed for possible angular displacement relative to support base and shield ceiling. Metal pockets on support section base and shield ceiling are made with bell-mouths directed towards and along the logs of wall which is additionally provided with metal props pivotally secured on base and shield ceiling.
