FIELD: mining industry; applicable in longwall advancing to the dip. SUBSTANCE: shield support for steeply dipping seams has units. Each unit has base, shield roofing made of separate load-bearing beams secured to rigid cross-pieces installed along the strike, props installed between base and shield roofing, advancing rams and sector support on which shield roofing freely rests with its rear part. Each load-carrying beam is connected by additional flexible links with adjacent load-carrying beams located on the side of seam roof. Each beam has two points of fastening of flexible links located on beam sides and spaced over beam length at an interval equalling the value of its advance towards seam roof in its dismantling. Each beam of shield roofing may be made trapezoidal in cross-section with its small base facing the face. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 3 dwg
