FIELD: production of metal and ceramic fibers from molten bath by rotating crystallizer, that is introduced in touch with molten bath hanging drop. SUBSTANCE: before initial material feeding and smelting area of changing speeds and directions of gas streams is formed over contact zone of smelt drop and surface of rotating crystallizer by mounting tubular member. Then initial material is fed in zone of increased temperature to produce fibers. In the case initial material is constantly rotated around axis of feeding or it is periodically being turned by angle of 45 - 180 deg in one and opposite to it direction. As a result productivity of process is increased due to increase of fibers production speed and process stability, that allows to produce fibers of small cross-sections. EFFECT: method allows to produce fibers of air oxidizing material due to creation of local reducing area. 8 cl, 1 dwg
