FIELD: production of solder in the form of thin ductive wire of hard-to-deform alloys, mainly of copper, nickel based alloys with additives of phosphorus, borum and similar elements. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of solidifying a blank by dipping a rotary edge of a crystallizer into a bath with melt; freezing on a surface of the blank a layer of metal or alloy, extracting the solidified blank out of the bath and separating it from the crystallizer with subsequent quenching of the blank; performing sizing of the blank before extraction of it from the bath; coiling a ready wire to coils or on bobbins. Optimal modes of above mentioned operations are given. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 5 cl, 1 dwg
