FIELD: electric transport with DC motors. SUBSTANCE: vehicle with rheostatic brake has storage battery, electric motor with two field winding intended for series and shunt connection, reverser, isolation diode, braking, adjustable and shunting resistors and three contactors. Use of second contactor, adjustable resistor and electric motor with second field winding connected in series in opposition to first field winding and use of third contactor and connection of shunting resistor in parallel with first field winding through contact of third contactor reduces battery discharge current and provides optimization of vehicle braking conditions.
