FIELD: designs of combination shaft-reflection type melting furnaces for making mineral melts in plants for producing mineral wool, basalt cardboard, cast stone and other building materials. SUBSTANCE: melting furnace has shaft whose lower part is connected with bath refractory material lined transition duct whose hearth is inclined relative to horizon by angle equal to or being more than angle of rest of loose charge material. Gas duct of shaft has recuperative heat exchanger-air heater with air blower arranged higher than level of charging port and having output joined with system for gaseous heating. Spaced from bath part of transition duct is connected with by-passing gas outlet pipe connected with shaft before heat exchanger-air heater. EFFECT: improved design. 6 cl, 1 dwg
